what do we get up to at wildlings and warriors?
saturday sessions offer nature based exploration, rooted in the forest school approach, giving children the chance to connect to themselves, each other and nature. the changing seasons and natural resources that are available in abundance inspire each day. we blend nature based learning and play and experiment with new nature based skills and ways of understanding and exploring the plant and animal kingdoms. in keeping with the forest school approach, activities unfold in response to interests of the children and needs of the group as well as what is happening in nature. nature based skills, crafts, stories, songs & games are supported and guided by qualified and experienced facilitators with training and experience in ‘forest school’, nature connection, holistic baby & childcare and childhood development.
this is all held within a self-contained private woodland where the children really have the space to be free and access deep play and learning which is a rare thing to find in london.

what are parents saying about us?
“my grandchildren have been attending your ‘forest school’ sessions. i couldn’t speak too highly of it. there are so many learning opportunities in a unique open air space which has been carefully developed to provide a wide range of outdoor activities. so much is planned for the children during the sessions – from nature trails to den making, carpentry to mud kitchen play.
yet they have freedom as well and are encouraged to explore and take risks in a safe environment, supported by staff who are very skilled in tuning in to the children’s interests and adapting plans accordingly. from the time they enter the forest school environment they are transported to a wonderful world where the beauty, challenge and endless possibilities afforded by the outdoors supports them to learn and develop in a very powerful way.
children learn life skills, gain confidence and independence, and develop a positive attitude to being outdoors in all weathers as well as a love of nature and wildlife. our ‘six’ year old always comes home and says, ‘grandma, i wish i could go to ‘forest School’ every day!”
